The account Aaron and sons Nadab and Abihu (also Num 3:4, 1Ch 24:2) as well as the account of the blasphemer (Lev 24:10-23) was strategic placed, respectively after the giving of the laws regarding offerings and the priest's duties (Lev 1-9) and the regulations concerning purification (Lev 11-15) and holy life (Lev 16-23).

These accounts reminded the people the consequent of doing against the what the Lord commanded. We should remember the wages of sin is death. (Rom 6:23).

1 Lev 16:12-13 This is how it should be done. What can we say, for the Lord had not told them? No, for they did what was not told. (Hebrews 5:4)
