Leviticus 8
From GloriousResource
Aaron and his sons will now be consecrated after the tabernacles is completed (Exo 40:1-33) and the laws concerning the sacrifices given (Lev 1-7).
6 They are washed with water to signify purification. The references to cleansing with water are referred to in the NT in John 13:10, Ephesians 5:26, Titus 3:5, Hebrews 10:22, 1 John 1:9.
12 Moses anointed Aaron with the anointing old as commanded by the Lord.(Exo 30:22-33). The pouring of the anointing oil is liken to the pouring of the holy spirit upon the anointed one, which is everyone that believes in Christ. (Isaiah 61:1)
14,15 The priest has to offer a sin offering for their sin. The priest has to continuously do this as was referred to in Hebrews 7:27. Jesus the perfect sacrifice did it once for all.
16,17 Lev 4:8-12
23,24 The blood are applied to signify total obedience and service to the Lord. Christ washes us from our sins in his own blood whom he makes kings and priests to our God, Re 1:5-6. And since we are washed, anointed with the Holy Spirit, received sacrifice for sin through Jesus and has the blood of the lamb on us, we are a royal priesthood. (1 Peter 2:9)
